Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez, 24, dies in boating accident in Florida

Miami Marlins, an American professional baseball team based in Florida, lost its pitcher José Fernández, 24, in a tragic accident after a boat he was on struck a Miami Bay jetty at high speed and overturned on Sunday September 25th. Two other yet to be identified men also lost their lives in the accident. Their bodies were found after Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were called out to Miami Beach. The photo of Jose above was taken hours before the accident yesterday...

Two bodies were found under the boat and one was found in shallow water. None was wearing life jackets, but Fernandez (pictured above) was said to have died due to impact, not drowning.

The investigation has been handed over to the police and because the boat hit a jetty, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). A representative of The FWC said:
"It does appear that speed was involved due to the impact and the severity of it. The boat seemed to be coming at full speed when they encountered the jetty, and the accident happened."
A police spokesman said that the rocks were hard to see at night, and while the boat had been used in the area it was possible the driver had sailed off-course without realizing. The investigation is ongoing, with toxicology reports yet to be performed, although neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors.

Fernandez, who defected from Cuba aged just 15, became American in 2015. He is survived by his family and pregnant girlfriend, Carla Mendoza.

Racism row: Samuel Eto'o dropped by Club over his Instagram post about not being respected 'because he's black'

Cameroon football star and former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o has been dropped by his club, Antalyaspor, after he claimed on social media that people didn't respect him because of his skin colour. According to AFP, the Turkish top flight said that Eto’o would be left out of the squad until further notice in a bitter row over comments on social media.

Two days ago, the football star, who moved to Antalyaspor in June 2015 posted a screenshot image of his achievement, all the cups he has won, along with a caption written in Turkish:
"Reminder – perhaps some people do not feel respect for me because I am black. But I am not going to come down from the level I have reached. I have been in this game for 18 years,"
The 35-year-old did not specify to whom he was targeting his criticism but later posted another message insisting it was not directed at Antalyaspor Chairman Ali Safak Öztürk. But Antalyaspor said in a terse statement on its website that a meeting of its board had decided to leave Eto’o out of the squad until further notice.

Turkish commentators had interpreted the remarks of Eto’o as a response to apparent criticism by Öztürk of his performance in the early season. The three-time Champions League winner has failed to lead his side to any kind of success with just one point from four matches
"No player is above the interests of Antalyaspor. Everyone must know their place," the chairman was quoted as saying." said Ozturk.

Man U player Antonio Valencia 'mourned' derby day loss by meeting sexy nurse in hotel behind his wife's back (photos)

According to a report by The Sun Uk, Man U star player Antonio Valencia mourned Man U's loss to Man City last weekend by having a secret hotel meeting with a sexy busty nurse behind his wife's back. The report also includes an image of tickets given to the nurse by Antonio Valencia to come watch the game before they both retired to a hotel after the game. Read below...

'Valencia set up his rendezvous with the busty nurse after spotting her on Instagram then wooing her with raunchy phone messages. The ace, 31, spent weeks bombarding Vagsaeter with sexy texts after “liking” her photos on social media.'And last Saturday — hours after his team lost their fierce Premier League derby with local rivals Man City — he arrived at a Manchester hotel where she was waiting in her room just after 11pm.'
The £90,000 per-week full-back, wearing a grey T-shirt, dark jeans and a baseball hat, kept his head down as he walked briskly through the lobby before taking the lift.

He stayed for around 40 minutes before leaving in a £130,000 silver Range Rover SUV.
News of the tryst is likely to infuriate United coach Jose Mourinho, who was so desperate for Ecuador star Valencia to take on City that club officials paid around £60,000 for a private jet to fly him back from international duty in Peru.

A source told The Sun on Sunday:

“Valencia had a stinker against City. Now we discover that he flew in a young fan and put her up in a hotel before the match, and made a beeline for her afterwards. It doesn’t look good. United fans who pay good money to support their team will be furious to think he might not have had his focus on the match. And I doubt Jose Mourinho will be impressed either.”Mourinho blasted his players for “choking” in the crucial derby and not being focused on the clash.
Valencia, who has a ten-year-old daughter with wife Zoila Meneses, met up with part-time nurse Sophie at the Manchester Airport Hilton after she flew in from her native Norway the day before the match.'
She posted a picture on social media of an envelope bearing the star’s name.' And on the day of the game she sent an image of herself inside the Old Trafford stadium.
.
'The footballer, who wed Zoila 12 years ago and is a Unicef ambassador for Ecuador, had earlier “liked” a series of racy photos in which Sophie showed off her tattoos, including a lion’s head on her back.'
A pal of Sophie said:

“Even someone not into football was going to struggle not to get their head turned by the promise of such an extravagant weekend.Valencia was gushing towards Sophie in messages. He even invited her to visit his home country. Since her trip, she’s been very vocal about what she got up to in Manchester. She has a new favourite player in Antonio Valencia.”

Jose Mourinho's men suffer humiliating defeat at the hands of Watford FC (Watford 3-1 Man U)

Jose Mourinho's Man United 'redemption work' is now in tatters. Following a transfer outlay of almost £150m (almost £100m for Paul Pogba alone), and three losses in the last three games (Man city, Feyernord, and Watford) it's safe to say Jose Mourinho's dream of making the club the World's most feared club is kinda fading.

The last time Manchester United was beaten by Watford was almost 30 years ago, so one might start to wonder will Mourinho break records negatively just like his predecessors Louis van Gaal and David Moyes?

Despite a Rashford equaliser, goals from Etienne Capoue, Suniga and a penalty by Deeney were enough to secure three points for Watford.
Watford started the first twenty minutes in impressive form with Ighalo missing a sitter and Deeney testing the goal keeper but it wasn't long before the first goal of the encounter came. Martial collecting the ball after a corner kick tried to contol the ball with his team mate Luke Shaw overlapping on the left side anticipating a pass from Martial, Martial was well tackled before a pass from the right side found Capoue who slotted the ball calmly into the net.

Watford's tactics of playing with Ighalo and Deeney pressing Man U's wingers worked in the first half and left the Old Trafford club frustrated in the first half. Martial suffered a concussion and was substituted before halftime by Ashley Young- a Watford native.

Man U resumed the second half with still no changes, Mourinho tried to alternate the shape of the team by urging Rashford and Rooney to play more centrally and it paid off in the 62nd minute as Rashford scored after some good footwork by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Zlatan, Mata and Pogba occasionally showed flashes of brilliance but it all wasn't enough.
Watford stunned Man U again in the 84th minute when substitute Zuniga scored the London's club second goal of the day. Mourinho introduced Depay to salvage soething out of the game but it was as pointless as it was worthless.
Fellaini then commited a foul in Man U's penalty area in extratime and Watford captain Troy Deeney didn't waste time in slotting the ball past goalkeeper David De Gea.
If Mourinho doesn't want the fans to turn on him, he should start delivering... and fast.. There are a whole lot of things £150m could get you, but today's performance isn't one of them.
