French court rules woman can use dead husband's sperm (Deccan Chronicle)

A Spanish woman won the right to use her dead husband's frozen sperm to try to have a baby when France's top administrative court upheld her appeal on Tuesday.

Mariana Gomez-Turri's Italian husband, who died of cancer aged 30 last year, had his sperm frozen before starting chemotherapy. At the time the couple lived in Paris, making the case subject to French law.

Artificial insemination in France is limited to sterile couples and Gomez-Turri was initially told by the authorities that she could not have the frozen sperm transferred to Spain, where she now lives.

She appealed to the Council of State, which ruled that while the law did not violate human rights in general, hers was a special case "because of the very specific circumstances ... and her late husband's illness, which prevented them carrying out their plans to have a child".

Wedding Disaster>>>10 ways to predict a 'bad marriage' in Nigeria

Our grandmothers used to say a bad omen on your wedding day could depict a bad marriage to come and these 10 points below may prove our grandmothers have been right all along.

Bride crying on wedding day (Realitatea)

A bride's wedding day is one of the best days of her life but what can possible go woefully wrong to end a her marriage even before it starts?
Our grandmothers used to say "a bad omen on your wedding day could depict a bad marriage to come" and these ten points below could prove that our grandmothers have been right all along.
playRain on a wedding day (Hindutva)

1.) Rain

Many people chose to wed during the summer or dry season but when heavy rains decide to fall on your wedding day (even in the heart of that dry season), that's a bad sign. My mom used to say, "this wedding is not supposed to happen".
2.) Groom sees bride in her wedding dress before wedding

This is not allowed to happen. Our elders think it’s a bad sign and brings ill luck to the couple. According to them the groom has to be surprised by the beauty of the bride at the altar not before the wedding ceremony.

play

This is one sad man (Getty Images)

3.) Groom gets drunk at bachelor's eve

This is definitely a sign of irresponsibility. Elders think the man will be a bad husband and may have just showed his true self before marrying the bride.
4.) Wedding dress malfunction

Heading to your own wedding and your wedding dress rips minutes before your arrival at the church? Damn! It’s a bad sign and some assume it shows the marriage won't last.

play

Food vendor (Bellanaija)

5.) Food poisoning

This a wedding day nightmare. Not only did the caterer not show up on time but the food caused your guests to suffer running stomachs or diarrhea? They will tell you, it's sign of hunger, poverty or your wife will be a bad cook.
6.) Photographer doesn't show up

What's a wedding without pictures? If the photographer doesn't show up on your wedding day, it's a complete disaster. Our fathers say it’s a sign of irresponsibility or that marriage is not meant to be. I mean, why won't there be pictures for others to remember your wedding?
7.) Mean exes show up invited

Couples fear the part when the priest announces that "if there's anyone here who thinks this couple shouldn’t get married… speak now or forever remain silent." This is the point when families and friends pray bitter exes are not present in the hall. Any hand raised or confession exposed could ruin the entire ceremony.

10 wicked wizards behind traffic in Lagos

8.) Traffic

Lagos traffic has been declared the craziest in Africa if not in the world. God help you that you, the bride, is stuck in traffic when you should have been in church two ago. What does that tell of you? What do you think your in-laws will say?
9.) LASTMA impounds the car carrying the bride

This is just catastrophic! When the road authority holds down the car carrying the bride on her way to the church, then that wedding is in trouble. We all know what happens when these officers have you in their palms because you are either desperate or in a hurry. It will be a nightmare, to say the least.
10.) Groom/Bride arrested in church

Just how bad could a Nigerian wedding go if the broom or bride gets arrested on his/her wedding day ... maybe in church during the ceremony? That wedding may never hold.

Ladies Only>>>5 wrong methods of asking a Nigerian guy out

Should women be encouraged to ask guys out if they really like them?

pla

Couple (Essence)

Nigerian men are proud men and sometimes do not appreciate a lady taking the bold step to come "toast" them especially in the presence of their friends. Some of them consider these type of women too bold for comfort or cheap. Both of which do not count if they girl really means it or if you like her at first sight.
However, to women trying to ask guys out, you don't have to it like these:

1. Hit on him when he's in a committed relationship

This one could work out well for you... but do you want it to? It'll also tell you a lot about him. Either he's not interested, or he's willing to cheat on whoever his current girlfriend or wife is. Eventually, that might be you someday.
2. Play hard to get

This is ridiculous on the girl's part. Don't go after a guy and when he shows some sign of interest, you start drifting away. He will think you are being stupid and/or shady. It just makes you look like you don't like him. To be fair, there's a difference between teasing him a bit and just ignoring him and making it seem like there's no hope. Those differences should be obvious. If they're not obvious, then never do this.

Happy Couple (Essence)

3. Don't second guess yourself

This is it. You might not have a lot of experience taking the initiative, but don't worry. Just be yourself, the magic was inside you all along, etc. If he's going to say "yes" it doesn't really matter what you do anyways. Believe that he's going to say yes. Because that what guys always think when they ask girls out. But more importantly, you believe in yourself and go for what you want.
4. Get a friend to do it for you

This is a technique that belongs in middle school. At best, even if he's saying yes, it puts him in an awkward place because he has no idea who you really are or what you look like. It feels decidedly immature and he could go for your friend instead -- since she's the bolder one!

Being good at conversations will also boost your chances of getting a girlfriend(ramblingroommates)

5. Don't do anything just to impress him

Don't ask him out snowboarding if you've never gone for one before. Don't ask him for romantic movie date night when you love Sci Fis. You will die. Just do dinner and drinks or something. Or, tell him you always wanted to go and ask him if he wants to try too. Just don't pretend to be someone you aren't.

Dieziani Madueke (Guardian

The ongoing probe of Dieziani Allison-Madueke, the former Minister of Petroleum Resources seems to have taken a new dimension following the arrival of investigators from the United Kingdom.

The Nation reports that the team of investigators inspected the former minister’s multi-billion naira mansion, her £600,000 exotic wrist watch and gold and diamond jewelry which have been confiscated.

It was gathered that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has also frozen Mrs Alison-Madueke’s bank accounts.

Mrs Allison-Madueke is under investigation over the missing $20billion oil cash, phoney crude oil lifting contracts, $115million poll bribery money, the $1.092b Malabu oil deal and the N5.2 billion ($25m) oil cash paid by an Indian oil firm for an oil block

The former minister and four others were arrested in London on October 2, 2015 by the National Crime Agency (NCA).

All the suspects were released on conditional police bail, pending further investigation both in the UK and Nigeria.

“With the outcome of the fact-finding mission of the UK team, I think so far, the investigation has reached a convenient bend for the prosecution of the ex-minister," an EFCC official said.

Officials of the EFCC are currently investigating Mrs Alison-Madueke’s involving a $115 million (N23, 299,705,000 billion) 2015 poll bribery scandal.

According to the EFCC, four companies allegedly gave the following amount to the bank for use to bribe officials of theIndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC); Northern Belt Gas Company Limited ($60m), Auctus Integrated($17,884,000), Midwestern Oil and Gas($9.5m), and Leno Laitan Adesanya ($1.85m).

The former minister stands the chance of losing all her assets in line with Section 26 and 29 of the EFCC Act on forfeiture.

Niger Delta Avengers (Punch)

The now popular militant group, Niger Delta Avengers has issued a press release accusing two top officers of theNigerian Army of receiving N250m bribe to destroy Gbaramatu Kingdom.

The militants alleged that Brig. Gen. Faruk Yahaya and Major. M. B. Yahaya took a bribe from a Niger Delta businessman.

They said “…The said Capt. Hosa bribed the Brigade Commander Benin (Brig. Gen. Faruk Yahaya) alongside the Officer Commanding Army Gunboat, JTF (Major. M. B. Yahaya) with the sum of two hundred and fifty million naira (250,000,000) in collaboration with one Ayiri Emami to destroy Gbaramatu Kingdom in the guise of looking for the Niger Delta Avengers.”

The militants who slammed Tompolo for his ‘friendship’ with the Federal Government said “We offered you the olive branch by beckoning you to join us in this struggle, but you refused.”

They also revealed that the Chairman and CEO of Oil Marine Services (OMS), Capt. Okunbor Idahosa also known, as Capt. Hosa, got a contract from the Nigerian Government to secure pipelines from Escravos to Lokoja.

The militants also said “The question is, why the innocent people of Gbaramatu, why the innocent pregnant women, why unleash terror on the aged people of Gbaramatu, Capt. Hosa, Major Yahaya, Ayiri and Brid. Gen Faruk must you waste all these innocent blood just to secure the pipeline surveillance job? Why making the innocent people of Gbaramatu suffer? This act of the Nigerian Army to us is the greatest act of cowardice. This fight we believe is against the Avengers and not the innocent villagers of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

“Where is the International Community and the United Nations when all these unspeakable injustice, is served the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom by the very unprofessional Nigerian Military? Are they not aware of the raping of young girls, looting and destruction of properties by the Nigeria military in Gbaranmatu kingdom?”

The Niger Delta Avengers have vowed to continue to blow up pipeline in the oil rich region of the Niger Delta, until the Federal Government meets their demands.

'I pity Lai Mohammed' - President Buhari

President Buhari today says one of the ministers he feels pity for is the Minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed who is saddled with the responsibility of explaining the progress or lack of it of this administration to people. President Buhari said this when he hosted state house Press Corps members at the presidential villa in Abuja.

“One of the men I pity is Lai Mohammed. Everyday he is on TV explaining our performance or lack of it. The ministers sit down day and night to work. Some of them have literarily lost weight because they were sleeping less and eating less (while working on the budget). They were working on every kobo to be spent. We recently just found out that we are poor because we don’t have anything to fall back to. This is the condition we found ourselves and this change mantra had to go through hell up till yesterday. And for you to talk to whoever came to visit us throughout that year, I wonder how each of your diaries would be, because people were expecting this change mantra in their own way. How do you define change? Luckily our party identified three major items, security, economy and corruption.”‎he said

Saudi Arabia executes Nigerian man after he was convicted of killing a police officer

Saudi authorities have executed a Nigerian man after convicting him of murdering a police officer, AFP reports. It was the 95th execution of the year in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom, which imposes the death penalty for offences including murder, drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape and apostasy. The surge in executions has drawn concern from human rights groups.
Fahd Houssawi was executed on Sunday, May 29 in the western city of Taif, the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency. He had been found guilty of strangling a policeman and beating him to death, the ministry said.

Houssawi had knocked the man to the ground before hitting his head repeatedly into the ground, beating him to death. He then injured another man in his attempt to escape.

Amnesty International has warned that at the current rate Saudi Arabia could see more than 100 executions in the first half of 2016.

The London-based watchdog said the kingdom carried out at least 158 death sentences last year, making it the third most prolific executioner after Iran and Pakistan. Its figures do not include secretive China.

The executions this year are higher than at the same point last year, Amnesty said.
Murder and drug trafficking cases account for the majority of Saudi executions, although 47 people were put to death for “terrorism” offences on a single day in January.

Niger Delta Avengers pen open letter to Tompolo, the International community & The United Nations

Through their spokesperson, Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, the Niger Delta Avengers wrote an open letter which was shared on their website, to former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo and the International community, asking whether they are witnessing the onslaught the Nigerian Army have unleashed on innocent citizens in their communities. What they wrote after the cut...

Tompolo before your eyes your people are suffering.
Our dear brother Tompolo, how is your friendship with the Nigerian Government. The people you took side with against us (the Niger Delta Avengers). We offered you the olive branch by beckoning you to join us in this struggle, but you refused

It is not our business what goes on in Gbaramatu Kingdom but our concern is the innocent children, women and aged people whom the Nigerian military has chased away from their homes now taking refuge in the forest. We warned you before hand that the Nigerian Government, can never be trusted.
To the Nigeria military, why are you looking for soft targets? If you are looking for the Avengers you know how to find us. Don’t deceive your President. Information gathered by the Intelligence unit of the Niger Delta Avengers revealed that Oil Marine Services (OMS) whose Chairman and CEO is Capt. Okunbor Idahosa also known, as Capt. Hosa is the company Nigerian Government awarded the Pipeline surveillance contract to spanning from Escravos to Lokoja. The said Capt. Hosa bribed the Brigade Commander Benin (Brig. Gen. Faruk Yahaya) alongside the Officer Commanding Army Gunboat, JTF (Major. M. B. Yahaya) with the sum of two hundred and fifty million naira (250,000,000) in collaboration with one Ayiri Emami to destroy Gbaramatu Kingdom in the guise of looking for the Niger Delta Avengers.

The question is, why the innocent people of Gbaramatu, why the innocent pregnant women, why unleash terror on the aged people of Gbaramatu, Capt.

Where is the International Community and the United Nations when all these unspeakable injustice, is served the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom by the very unprofessional Nigerian Military? Are they not aware of the raping of young girls, looting and destruction of properties by the Nigeria military in Gbaranmatu kingdom?

As for you Tompolo, what do you have to say about the horrible treatment meted your people by Nigerian Military, are you still going to call the Niger Delta Avengers criminals, are you still going to take side with the Nigeria Government against your people? What happened to you (Tompolo)? We respect the love you have for your people the Niger Delta. What is really happening to you when the likes of Mr Ayiri, Capt Hosa and Co are unleashing this kind of atrocities on your people, has the wealth you acquire made you soft that you don’t know what to do anymore?

The Nigerian Military cannot intimidate us by harassing innocent Niger Deltans. Gbaramatu is just one kingdom in Delta State. The Niger Delta is made up of seven States, it is therefore very funny to lure us to halt our well-planned line of actions that will shock the whole world by harassing innocent villagers.

To you Capt. Hosa the new pipeline protector; the intelligence unit of the Avengers has your full data, we know where all your assets are located and that most of your businesses are in the Niger Delta. For this single act of injustice against the innocent people of Gbaramatu you, your wife and entire family will suffer.

To Major M.B. Yahaya, we are sure you have not seen real combat before; how did you rose to the rank of a Major this is to show that Nigerian Military is finished if it to depend on people like you. You are only good at harassing innocent women and children in the name of looking for the Niger Delta Avengers. We are not surprised because all Nigerian Military are corrupt. Be assured that we are making this fight personal with you as we shall make your life a living hell. Can anyone tell the difference between Major MB Yahaya, Brig. Gen Faruk Yahaya and Boko Haram? We are asking because we cannot spot any difference.

Is the Nigeria military now a hired gun for the rich? The Amnesty International should take note of these officers who authorized the harassing of the innocent people of Gbaranmatu.

To the International Oil Companies and Indigenous Oil Companies, it’s going to be bloody this time around. Your facilities and personnel will bear the brunt of our fury, which shall fall upon you like a whirling wind.
Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo
Spokesperson.

Which race of women do you think has the tightest vagina? Black, hispanic or whites? A new study tells us

Not all study is supposed to make sense or be educative..lol...some people don't have work. A new medical study titled “Comparison of vaginal shapes in Afro-American, Caucasian and Hispanic women as seen with Vinyl Polysiloxane Casting,” set out to determine which race of women has the tightest vaginas and guess what they arrived at?

According to preliminary findings, black women have the tightest, followed by Hispanic, and then Caucasian women. But how can you they arrive at this conclusion? Did they try out women?

According to reports, the study called for a full vinyl polysiloxane casts of the vagina to be obtained from the subjects – 23 African-American, 39 Caucasian and 15 Hispanic women. The casts were taken in lying, sitting and standing positions.

Here is now the study was described:

Analyses of cast and introital measurements revealed: (1) posterior cast length is significantly longer, anterior cast length is significantly shorter and cast width is significantly larger in Hispanics than in the other two groups and (2) the Caucasian introitus is significantly greater than that of the Afro-American subject.
The shape of the vagina also varies from woman to woman and can be categorized as parallel sides, conical, heart, slug and pumpkin seed [21,23]. When compared among races, the pumpkin seed shape was found to be specific to African-American women [23].
To me, the most interesting data compared vaginal shapes among 23 African-American, 39 Caucasian, and 15 Hispanic women. The researchers found that the Hispanic ladies’ vaginas were wider overall, longer in the back, and shorter in the front than the vaginas of the other women. The study also noted that the Caucasian women had a much larger vaginal opening than did the African American women.
So basically, Caucasian women tend to have longer vaginas at the front of the body (anterior), shorter at the rear. Hispanics tend to have larger overall width (what you would term tightness) with the shortest length. African women tend overall to have the smallest width (tightest).

'I will soon disclose what killed Abacha and Abiola' - Al Mustapha

Former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, yesterday May 30th, said he would soon reveal how his former boss and the acclaimed winner of June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola, died.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, Al-Mustapha alleged that Abacha and Abiola’s deaths were from same source.

According to him, he would be telling all he knows about the death of the two famous Nigerians in his new book, Mustapha’s Memoirs, which he is still writing and would soon publish. Al-Mustapha accused some Yoruba personalities of being insincere with Abiola while he was alive and in detention.

“For instance, when Chief MKO Abiola was in prison, many notable Nigerians visited him. They will visit him in the morning, and when they come back to the Villa in the evening to see Abacha, they would say a different thing entirely. On video “Unknown to these notable Nigerians, particularly notable Yoruba personalities, who visited Abiola, their visits were recorded on video. I did the video recording without their knowledge. These people would visit Abiola and come back to tell government a different thing about him. These same people would still go and tell Abiola a different thing about government. They are on video. The agencies of government have these videos evidence. These same people told MKO Abiola never to accept any compromise or negotiations. They advised him never to come back home without his mandate. All these things are on video. Of all the Yoruba leaders, only Oba Tejuosho told MKO Abiola the truth: to accept the conditional bail and go home. Only Oba Tejuosho told MKO Abiola that Abacha was his friend, urging him to reconcile with Abacha who was ready for reconciliation. It was Oba Tejuosho who told MKO Abiola that he still had the goodwill and would win if he re-contests after Abacha. What killed Abacha is what killed MKO Abiola. But I would reveal that after my court case, still at the Supreme Court. I would publish a book which has three volumes the Mustapha’s Memoirs, which will tell what happened under Abacha and how he died” he said
