'A pastor got my sister pregnant; now he is threatening to deal with us'

What would you do to a gangster pastor who, after impregnating your sibling, threatens to deal with you if you make the issue public?

My name is Christiana, a 29-year-old lady who lives and work in Lagos. I am in a dilemma at the moment and I hope your readers will be able to help me with some useful advice so as to know the direction to take in this very knotty issue.

My 19-year-old younger sister, Blessing, who came from our hometown to stay with me and do her Industrial Attachment after she finished her OND, is currently pregnant, a result of a randy pastor in my area but instead of taking his responsibilities, he has resorted to insulting me and threatening to deal with any member of my family should we ever make the issue a public affair.

When Blessing came, she had refused to worship where I worship, preferring to continue with a very popular pentecostal church she used to attend back home. I did not stop her and a few weeks after, she was a member of the church workers and was always in church after closing from work.

I did not see anything wrong with that or with members of the church frequenting my place to either study the bible or pray with her. I only became worried when she began visiting a pastor in the church, bringing his clothes to wash, preparing meals and taking them to him, even though the man is married.

When I asked her why she was doing all that for a married man, she quoted many verses in the bible about how we should do things for pastors and other men of God. But two months ago, an older female neighbour noticed changes in my sister and hinted me that she suspected Blessing was pregnant. I also monitored and noticed she was becoming fatter, paler and lazy.

When I confronted her, she swore she only had typhoid fever but I practically forced her to the hospital for a test which proved she was three months pregnant. After a lot of persuasion and cajoling, she confessed that the so called pastor was responsible.

My fiance and I decided to visit the man and tell him what he had done and though he denied that he was responsible, he has been threatening to deal with us if we ever make it known that he got a church member pregnant. He claims to have links with police officers and soldiers whom he can set upon us to either kill or maim us.

I don't know what to do in this situation.

Christiana."
